commented is a free, open source comment blogging program. You can use it to generate your own comment blog web site. Write your thoughts on any site, picture, document on the web -- anything with an URL -- and then generate a web site that can be hosted wherever you want.

commented has different uses:

• A link blog. Publish your bookmarks and share all the cool sites you discover on the net.
• Product reviews. Review books on Amazon or movies on IMDb.
• Discussion. Each person can host their own comment blog and respond to their friend's comments allowing for free-form, hassle-free discussion.

why

It's not easy to comment on stuff on the web. Not every blog or corporate site out there allows comments. Those that do host comments must manually moderate them in order to combat widespread comment spam. commented redefines the problem by encouraging users to host their comments on their own web site.

how

commented is a Java program so you'll need to install Java.

Download commented.zip. Unzip the file into a directory and then double click the launcher script appropriate for your operating system.
